How long will my claim process take?

This is a question that is often raised by clients when we first meet with them. The simple answer is that each claim is different and has various factors that can impact how long the claim will take to conclude. At Cambridge Land Consultants, we will always represent our clients on an individual basis and will aim to conclude your claim as quickly as possible - while ensuring that you receive the highest possible level of compensation.

As a guide, it normally takes between 9 and 18 months to conclude most claims. However, we have previously negotiated and concluded settlements within six months under special circumstances.

If you decide to put your house on the market during the claim process, it is helpful that you contact us even if you haven’t yet agreed the sale. It’s important to remember that only the current registered owner of the property is entitled to the settlement payment, so you will want to conclude matters prior to exchanging sale contracts. If you don’t the new owner will then be entitled to the payment.
